Introduction

E-Codes Reader ("the App") respects your privacy. This policy describes what data is collected and how it is used.

Data collected

Data stored locally on the device

• Scan history: scanned barcodes and related products
• Favorites: products saved by the user
• Profile preferences: diet, allergens, selected language

This data is stored exclusively on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Required permissions

• Camera: used exclusively for barcode scanning. Images are not saved or transmitted.

Third-party services

The App uses the following external services:

Open Food Facts

When you scan a barcode, the App queries the Open Food Facts public API to retrieve product information. Only the barcode is transmitted. Open Food Facts Privacy Policy.

Google ML Kit

The App uses ML Kit for barcode recognition. Processing takes place entirely on the device. Google Privacy Policy.

Data NOT collected

The App does not collect:

• Personally identifiable data (name, email, phone)
• Location data
• Advertising identifiers
• Analytics or usage data

Security

Data is stored locally on the device using Android's SQLite database. No personal data is transmitted to external servers.

Children

The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
